GMC state no remote prescribing for anti-wrinkle injections

July 23rd marked a huge step in the aesthetics industry - no more remote prescribing.  The General Medical Council (GMC) has now taken a stance on this matter, following the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and now anyone who is having anti-wrinkle treatment must have a face to face consultation with the prescriber.  The only people allowed to prescribe are doctors, dentists and Independant Nurse Prescribers (which I am).  Obviously this has a huge impact on non prescribers but it is important you are being treated safely and within the correct guidelines and is the first step forward in regulating the industry.  If you know anyone having treatment, please pass this information onto them and ask them to check the practitioners qualifications.  I am more than happy for people to check my registered qualifications on the NMC website.
