The ageing process is an unstoppable one.
One and many factors such as hormones, sun exposure and smoking can speed up this process by causing lines and wrinkles to develop. Young skin is full of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid which is a substance that binds water, hydrates the skin and gives an effect of fullness and volume, but as we age the level of hyaluronic acid decreases, skin becomes drier, less plump and smooth, starts to sag and loses its youthful colour and glow. To counter act this effect we can inject hyaluronic acid dermal fillers to hydrate and plump out the skin giving instant results.
Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers have been used to treat millions of patients worldwide and is the world’s most popular non surgical treatment for static wrinkles. They may also be used in conjunction with botox for particularly deep lines. These fillers are temporary and results should last between 9 – 12 months. Restylane and Juvederm dermal fillers have been extensively tested and are supported by the most clinical studies to ensure your safety.

What Can I Expect?
Following an initial consultation and if suitable for treatment, a medical questionnaire and consent is obtained and pre and post procedure photographs are taken of the areas to be treated. The area is cleansed and a local anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin and allowed to take effect. Juvederm Ultra and Restylane products all contain lidocaine, an anaesthetic agent within the filler to ensure a more comfortable procedure. This is relatively painless and the whole procedure takes approximately one hour after which you can return to work or other activities.
Following lip enhancement and lip augmentation ice is usually applied to alleviate any swelling.
