How Does it Work?

The Skin Pen™ will produce thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin, stimulating the skin to regenerate and repair itself while closing rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly.

Using the advanced technology and precision engineering of the Skin Pen™ device, the practitioner is able to control the intensity of the procedure by adjusting the needle depth and needle speed depending on the area being treated and the clinical condition of the skin. This means the practitioner can deliver an even more intensive, even more controllable and even more comfortable medical skin-needling procedure!

After the procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface of the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to six weeks before visible signs of regenration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months.

Your practitioner may recommend a series of three procedures every 4 weeks depending on your skin complaint.

What can I expect during treatment?

After cleansing and disinfecting the area to be treated, a topical local anaesthetic cream is applied to numb the skin. A skin gliding solution will be applied to the skin during the treatment. Following treatment a mask is applied to help hydrate and replenish the skin. An after care kit is provided with after care instructions. The treated area will be red following treatment (similar to sunburn) but this will settle within a couple of days.
